Getting into Romania

Important Note: Romania is part of the Schengen Area, so you can enter if you can get into Europe. We do not provide invitation letters or help with securing visas.

Getting to Făgăraș

Făgăraș is the nearest major town to the Advent Center and is where we are happy to do pickups from. There are several ways to get to Făgăraș:

By Bus

Regional buses run from major cities to Făgăraș. Visit Autogari.ro for bus schedules and availability.

By Rideshare

Rideshare is quite active in Romania and usually works really well. We recommend using Blablacar website for ride-sharing.

By Train

The nearest train station is Făgăraș. You can check their official website or download the CFR Călători application to buy train tickets and get updates. A good site to check schedules is Mersultrenurilor.

Note: Romanian trains are usually late so plan accordingly.

By Driving

The Advent Center at Berivoi is accessible by car using the following routes:

From Bucharest

Approximate time: 4.5 hours

Take the A3 highway north towards Ploiești

Continue on DN1/E60 towards Brașov

Before arriving in Predeal, head west on 73A towards Făgăraș

Turn left onto DJ104A south to Recea

From Cluj-Napoca

Approximate time: 4 hours

Take A10/E81/DN1 south to Turda

Continue south through Alba Iulia and Sebeș

Head towards Sibiu

From Sibiu

Approximate time: 1.5-2 hours

Head east on DN1/E68

Towards Sambata de Jos

From Făgăraș

Approximate time: 20-25 minutes

Take DJ104 south

Towards Recea

Final Directions from Recea

At the intersection with DJ104A, continue south following signs for the Berivoi Monastery

After 600 meters, turn left at the police station towards the monastery

Continue for 5 kilometers, then turn left at the sign for LB Berivoi Natura Village

After 150 meters, take another left heading north

The Advent Center at Berivoi is 500 meters ahead on the right

By Taxi from Făgăraș

It is better to coordinate with the event organizers to arrange pickups from Făgăraș, but if you wish to take a taxi a fair rate is not more than 80 lei (est. $22). Perlataxi +40 268 937

Taxi Instructions: Tell them it is near the Monastery Berivoi and give the driving directions from Recea.

FREE Pickup

To be eligible for the free pickup service, you must be staying at the Advent Center for at least 3 nights and are proactive with communication.

Pickup Service Available! We are happy to offer rides from Făgăraș to the Advent Center. This service is available to make your arrival as smooth as possible, but you MUST plan ahead and communicate your arrival times or any schedule changes.

Ideal Pickup Times

We ask that all arrivals take place on Friday mornings or early afternoons, so you can get settled before Sabbath begins however any day but Sabbath is ok.

Sabbath Notice

Out of respect for the sacred hours, we avoid check-ins, travel, or unnecessary disruptions during the Biblical Sabbath from Friday evening to Saturday evening.

Shared facilities: Bathrooms, laundry, and the kitchen are communal.
